In May 2025, Arina Melse, Legal Director at the Baltic Human Rights Society, delivered a lecture course on human rights as part of the Intensive Programme in European Union Law and Economics.

The Intensive Programme in European Union Law and Economics is organized by the Riga Graduate School of Law and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia. The programme is open to professionals from the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, and the Balkan countries, as well as from Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine, who have at least two years of experience in public administration, non-governmental organizations, or academia.
During the human rights course, participants studied the fundamental principles of human rights, national and international protection mechanisms, core civil and political rights and freedoms, and engaged in discussions on contemporary human rights challenges related to areas such as armed conflicts and climate change.
