Human Rights Guide in Lithuania: new partners and supporters

Baltic Human Rights Society is pleased to announce a significant development in Lithuania. The Institute for Human Rights and Democracy Education has officially taken on the role of the national coordinator for the Guide in the country.

This new partnership marks a milestone for the Guide in Lithuania, as the Institute brings its expertise and commitment to advancing human rights education and awareness. The Institute houses experts both that already have worked with the Guide before but also new faces that we are happy to see brought on the growing team of the Guide.

While the Guide in Lithuania was one of the first Guides launched, together with Latvia and Estonia, recently the Guide has been gaining momentum in Lithuania, receiving valuable support from key institutions. The Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson and the Office of the Inspector of Journalist Ethics have now formally endorsed the Guide, recognizing its importance as a tool for promoting human rights and fostering respect for diversity.

We are happy to see that the Guide in Lithuania receives a significant number of visits a week, currently amounting to nearly 2000 visits. A notable number of visits come from schools and other educational institutions that use the Guide in their daily activities. In Lithuania, the pages on What are human rights?, Video monitoring and Health are the most popular.

The Human Rights Guide offers a comprehensive collection of resources, including legal information, news articles, and educational materials on a wide range of human rights topics. By providing accessible and up-to-date information, the Guide empowers individuals and organizations to understand and defend their rights.

As the Human Rights Guide continues to grow and develop, it remains dedicated to its mission of promoting human rights, fostering dialogue, and building a more just and equitable society in Lithuania, Latvia and beyond. The Guide is currently available in 11 countries.
