The Lithuanian partners implementing the Human Rights Guide in Lithuania, Institute for Human Rights and Democracy Education, have secured support from a national institution for the first time to expand the Guide's content.

This funding, granted by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania, will enable the development of new sections focusing on civil resistance and related topics.
This development is particularly noteworthy in the context of the Baltic states' geopolitical environment. With increased regional tensions, ensuring accessible and reliable information on topics such as civil resistance and defence is crucial for empowering citizens and fostering resilience. The expansion of the Human Rights Guide aims to address this need by providing clear, practical, and rights-based information to the public.
During the project content on topics of Civil resistance and Military service will be added to the existing Civic participation theme of the Guide. This will include user-friendly explanations, interactive elements, and summaries of relevant legal practices.
Significantly, the project is designed with adaptability in mind. The content developed for the Guide in Lithuania will be structured to allow for easy adaptation and implementation in other countries participating in the Guide Network. This will amplify the project's impact, ensuring that many users can benefit from these resources in the long term.
This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between governmental bodies, like Ministry of National Defence, and civil society organizations in promoting human rights education and strengthening civic awareness.
The project is supported by Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania (No. NVO-125 / 7SU-7).
