Human rights education

New organizations added to the Latvian Guide

The Human Rights Guide, a crucial resource for individuals looking for assistance and information to protect their rights in Latvia, has been updated with the addition of several new organizations. This allows the users of the Guide to find organisations that can help them when they are faced with specific human rights challenges.

The theme “Organizations That Can Help You” brings together organizations - some of which work with human rights in general, while others support particular groups in society and protect specific rights.

In October five new non-governmental organizations and one state institution was added to the theme:

Latvian Movement for Independent Living
The aim of the Latvian Movement for Independent Living is to promote the development of an inclusive society and equal opportunities for everyone in society, through help to people with disabilities.

"Tavi Draugi"
“Tavi Draugi” provides humanitarian aid to refugees and people in need, with a focus on providing aid to Ukrainian civilians in Latvia.

SOCINTEGRA
SOCINTEGRA is a non-profit organisation with a focus on environmental accessibility and social integration of people with visual impairments.

I Want to Help Refugees

Public Integration Fund

The Human Rights Guide was created with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in Latvia, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office’s Nordplus Education Programme, the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia and the Active Citizens Fund.
