Human rights education

New partner countries join the Human Rights Guide platform

The Human Rights Guide — a human rights education and a self-help platform created by the Baltic Human Rights Society (BHRS), is continuing to expand and is reaching more and more people. In 2023, the platform will become available in France and Croatia.

The preparation of the French and Croatian versions of the Guide already commenced in early 2022 in cooperation with Institut international des droits de l'Homme et de la paix and Human Rights House Zagreb, with a total of fourteen themes being prepared – seven for each country. Work on the expansion of the Guide with new human rights themes that are important for France and Croatia will also continue in the coming years.

The organizations began the research work to prepare the content for the Guide in March 2022: the relevant themes were selected and their adoption was commenced based on national laws and the factual situation. The partners will also implement the knowledge assessment tool, which gives an opportunity to users of the Guide to assess their human rights knowledge.

BHRS organized a meeting at the EU House in Riga on 3 and 4 February 2022, with the new partner organizations – Human Rights House Zagreb from Croatia, Institut international des droits de l'Homme et de la paix from France, as well as the Slovakian partner organization, the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Slovakia, in order to jointly discuss and plan the expansion of the Human Rights Guide.

The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Baltic partners with the support of the European Union Erasmus+ Programme.
